What was fabricated

Legal authorities and quotations. The court's order records a fictitious Westlaw citation; at least five other cases cited for quotations they do not contain; multiple cases cited for propositions they do not stand for; and that roughly half the citations in the Strike Opposition contained errors.

What happened as a result

Fed. R. Civ. P. 11 sanction, order of 25 September 2026 (Dkt. 155): the Lindemann Law Firm to pay the Enterprise Defendants' reasonable attorney's fees and costs up to $10,000. That is a cap: the amount payable is whatever those fees are assessed at, and the order does not fix it. Lindemann's pro hac vice admission revoked; local counsel remains as the plaintiff's representative. Status conference set for 9 November 2026.
